Lido Activates Upgrade, Moves 8 Million ETH Onto New Validator Design
Lido, the largest ETH liquid staking infrastructure provider, has activated its Core Protocol upgrade. This marks the biggest change to Lido's staking process since Lido V2.
The company is moving over 8 million ETH onto Ethereum's newer validator design, known as 0x02 validators. This shift will see a significant reduction in the number of validators on the network, with close to a third fewer validators once the migration completes.
The upgrade also introduces a new requirement for Curated Node Operators: they must now lock ETH bonds, covering risks such as slashing and execution layer rewards violations.
