Lido Consolidates $16 Billion in Staked ETH Amid Operational Overhaul
Lido, a leading Ethereum staking platform, has initiated a major consolidation effort to optimize its operations. The move involves transferring approximately $16 billion in staked ETH from legacy validators capped at 32 ETH into larger 0x02 validators with an effective balance of up to 2,048 ETH.
The rollout of Curated Module v2 enables this migration, which was introduced through Ethereum's Pectra upgrade. This change is expected to reduce operational overhead and minimize the number of attestation messages processed by the Ethereum network.
The consolidation process will begin with seeding approximately 3,882 new validator keys with 124,224 ETH. The remaining 7.82 million ETH managed by the module will then be consolidated into the new validator structure.
