Lido Core Overhauls Ethereum Staking with Major Upgrade
Lido Core has rolled out a significant upgrade to its Ethereum staking framework. The update is designed to enhance the efficiency of validators and promote decentralization.
The new version allows validators to handle higher staking amounts while requiring fewer validator addresses on the network. This upgrade will be automated by Lido Core, meaning stETH holders do not need to take any action.
The update includes the integration of Ethereum's 0x02 withdrawal credentials via Curated Module v2. As a result, validators can boost their actual amount of staked ETH from 32 ETH up to 2,048 ETH.
Lido estimates that this upgrade may lead to a decrease in the number of validators on the Ethereum network, potentially dropping from 880,000 to 628,000. However, this is still speculative and depends on the migration process.
