Lido DAO Plunges 16% Amid Ethereum Staking Proposal

Lido DAO's token price dropped by 16.31% over the past 24 hours after Ethereum proposed a new staking proposal, EIP-8361.

The proposal aims to reduce staking yields from around 2.6% to 1.2%, which could negatively impact liquid staking products like stETH and Lido's growth outlook.

Despite the decline, exchange inflows indicate that holders are preparing tokens for potential selling, but the inflow is relatively modest compared to the spike in trading activity.

The rise in Open Interest (OI) by 14.26% shows traders increasing exposure despite the selloff, which suggests growing speculative interest around LDO.
