Lido Migrates 8M ETH to New Staking Framework
Lido Finance has initiated a significant upgrade to its staking infrastructure by migrating over 8 million ETH to its Curated Module v2 framework. This overhaul is designed to consolidate smaller validators into Ethereum's new large-validator framework, thereby improving network efficiency.
The migration aims to shrink the Ethereum validator population by about one-third and reduce epoch attestation traffic by approximately 29%. These changes are intended to optimize validator operations under Ethereum's post-Pectra architecture.
Lido estimates that all 34 curated node operators participating in its validator set will be required to post ETH bonds for the first time. This bonding requirement is meant to strengthen operator accountability as the protocol adopts its updated validator model.
