Lido Unveils Next-Gen Community Staking Module on Testnet

Lido's new Community Staking Module (CSM) has gone live on testnet. The 0x02 CSM, available at csm.testnet.fi, allows validators to operate with withdrawal credentials supporting compounding balances of up to 2,048 ETH per validator.

This is a significant upgrade to Ethereum's staking infrastructure, with the mainnet deployment targeted for October 2026. If that timeline holds, it would represent one of the most significant upgrades since Lido launched its original CSM in 2024.

The existing 0x01 CSM limits each validator to a maximum effective balance of 32 ETH. The new module flips this model, allowing a single validator to compound rewards up to 2,048 ETH, reducing operational complexity for larger stakers while maintaining the permissionless ethos.
