Lido's Massive ETH Consolidation Could Reduce Validators by One Third
Lido, an Ethereum staking protocol, is undergoing a historic migration that will consolidate over 8 million ETH, valued at $16.5 billion, into a smaller number of validators.
This consolidation could reduce the total number of active validators on Ethereum by one third, from approximately 880,000 to nearly 628,000.
The goal is to create a lighter consensus layer, reducing the pressure on nodes and potentially limiting some risks associated with an increasing number of validators.
