Lido's Staking Rebase Misses Target Amid Accounting Delay

Lido's staking protocol faced an unexpected setback after its stETH rebase missed target due to a delayed accounting update. The issue arose from a 32 ETH validator deposit that was not accounted for in time, causing a temporary discrepancy in reported yields.

The daily rebase APR reached 2.04% instead of the expected 2.15%, but an investigation revealed no missing funds or protocol penalties. Contributors verified validator balances and found that the accounting oracle missed a single deposit, which was already reflected on the Beacon Chain.

The team is investigating the root cause of the issue before deploying a fix to restore omitted balances and normalize reported staking yields in future rebases.
