Lido's stETH Rebase Misses Target Amid Accounting Delay

Lido's stETH rebase missed its target after a temporary accounting delay caused by a delayed 32 ETH validator deposit.

The discrepancy occurred when the accounting oracle failed to include the pending deposit in its daily snapshot, resulting in an underreported staking yield of 2.04% instead of the expected 2.15%.

However, contributors verified that there were no missing funds or protocol penalties, and the team is investigating the root cause before deploying a fix to restore the omitted balances and normalize reported staking yields.

The incident highlighted an operational reporting issue rather than a protocol failure, and Lido's stability was soon followed by a more general stabilization of market conditions, with the price ratio for stETH to ETH stabilizing near parity.
