LINK Whale Activity Surges to Five-Month High Amid Large Transfers and Holdings
Chainlink's LINK token has experienced a significant surge in whale activity, with on-chain data revealing a five-month high in large-value transfers. According to Santiment, 246 transfers exceeding $100,000 were recorded in the past 24 hours, the highest such count in five months.
This uptick in large transfers coincides with an increase in the holdings of major wallets, suggesting that large investors are becoming more active in the market. The data shows that wallets holding between 100,000 and 10 million LINK now collectively hold approximately 466.31 million LINK, representing 46.57% of the token's total supply.
Historically, such whale movements have been associated with increased price volatility, but Santiment notes that spikes in whale activity are not a definitive predictor of market moves. The current data suggests that large players are positioning themselves, though the direction of their bets remains unclear.
