Liquid Network Resumes Transactions Amid $320M Hack Fallout
Liquid Network, a sidechain of Blockstream's Bitcoin network, has resumed transactions after a hacker drained around 4,000 BTC from its federation wallet and then returned most of it. The restart is crucial for anyone with Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC) or stablecoins on the network.
The funds were suspended since Sunday, September 6, and about 600 BTC still in the attacker's hands represents a hole in the reserve backing those tokens.
Blockstream's sidechain resumed block production on Thursday, but as a precautionary measure, transactions are limited while the team monitors for full stabilization.
