Liquid Sidechain Hit by Massive Security Breach as Bitcoin Price Continues to Climb

Liquid sidechain has lost approximately 3,996-4,000 BTC from its federation reserves, leaving only around 197 BTC remaining. The loss resulted in operators halting the chain and suspending bridge activity.

Exchanges have been warned to suspend transfers of L-BTC until further notice. Despite this setback, on-chain data indicates that about 600,000 more BTC are now profitable compared to May, resulting in around $47 billion in unrealized gains.

A significant portion of the remaining BTC - approximately 1.05 million - is currently trading between $83,000 and $86,000, putting it near breakeven for long-term holders.
