Lisk Chain Shutdown Imminent: Bridge LSK to Ethereum by October 21

The Lisk Chain, one of the oldest names in the industry, will shut down on October 31, 2026. This means that holders who have their LSK tokens directly on the Lisk Chain or locked up in staking must bridge them to Ethereum before the shutdown date.

A key detail for holders is that leaving the Lisk Chain requires clearing two waiting periods: unlocking staked tokens takes three days, and the bridge transfer to Ethereum takes at least seven. To avoid missing the deadline, Lisk advises holders to start the process no later than ten days before the shutdown, which means by October 21.

The LSK token will continue to exist and keep its existing contract on Ethereum, but it will take on a new role in the company's business model as a loyalty point. Companies are expected to receive rewards in LSK and later pay fees with them.
