Lisk Shuts Down Blockchain After Decade-Long Run, Burns 100M LSK Tokens

Lisk is ending its decade-long journey as an independent blockchain network on October 31, 2026. The project's new direction will focus on a business finance platform, featuring stablecoins, payments, and financial operations.

The proposed shutdown involves burning 100 million LSK tokens, reducing the total supply from 400 million to 300 million. This move eliminates previously scheduled token vesting and removes tokens that were set to enter circulation.

Lisk Chain holders will need to bridge their tokens to Ethereum before the closure date. The bridging process takes at least seven days, with stakers facing a three-day waiting period after unstaking.
