Lite Strategy Boosts Litecoin Backing Through Strategic Buyback
Lite Strategy, a company that manages a Litecoin treasury, has completed a $5.4 million buyback of its shares using a combination of Litecoin sales and covered-call premiums.
The repurchased 4.9 million shares represented about 13% of the company's outstanding shares, with an average price of $1.11 per share.
The buyback funding mix is noteworthy, as it shows that Lite Strategy used a portion of its Litecoin holdings to fund the purchase. According to the company, 11.87% of the funds came from selling Litecoin, while 1.13% came from covered-call premiums.
This move marks an important milestone for crypto treasury companies, which are increasingly looking to manage their per-share asset exposure rather than just accumulating assets. By reducing its share count and increasing the amount of Litecoin backing each remaining share, Lite Strategy is following a more sophisticated treasury model.
