Litecoin Price Struggles at 200-Day SMA as Smart Money Loads Longs
Litecoin's price has been struggling to break through the $50.64 level, which is its 200-day Simple Moving Average (SMA). The current price of $50.22 is just 42 cents below this threshold, and the MACD momentum indicator has hit zero, indicating that buyers are hesitating rather than fleeing.
The derivatives market suggests that smart money is quietly loading long positions, with open interest surging 5.45% in 24 hours. Retail traders are also heavily long, but top traders are even more aggressively positioned, which could indicate a strong bullish bias.
However, if the price fails to reclaim the SMA 200 and breaks below $49.11, the bull thesis would be invalidated, and short positions would become viable.
