Litecoin Surges Past $60 as MWEB Adoption Hits New High

Litecoin has broken through its resistance level of $60 after experiencing several days of consolidation. The current momentum is driven by two distinct narratives: the increasing adoption of Litecoin's privacy layer and the development of a programmable ecosystem through LitVM.

The use of Litecoin's Mimblewimble Extension Block (MWEB) addresses has reached a new milestone, with approximately 519,000 LTC held in these private accounts. This represents a steep rise in MWEB balances, which have been steadily increasing over the past two years. The return to high levels provides a more useful adoption signal after the security issues encountered earlier this year.

LitVM is currently developing an EVM-compatible ZK rollup secured by Litecoin, allowing for trustless bridging and expanding Litecoin's utility beyond peer-to-peer payments. While there is no confirmed mainnet launch yet, the project has made significant progress on its testnet, with over 250 million transactions processed and various DeFi applications being developed.
