Litecoin Surges Past Peers as Most Widely Used Crypto
Litecoin (LTC) has surged ahead of its peers in terms of active addresses, becoming the most widely used cryptocurrency globally. According to on-chain analytics firm Santiment, the number of daily active Litecoin addresses skyrocketed from an average of around 345,000 in April to a staggering 700,000 in May.
This significant increase in activity suggests that more users are engaging with the Litecoin blockchain than ever before. The metric, known as Daily Active Addresses, serves as a proxy for network traffic and interest in the asset.
Litecoin's popularity can be attributed to its speed and low transaction fees, making it an attractive option for everyday transactions. However, despite this surge in activity, LTC's price has remained stagnant, indicating that users may not view it as a viable store of value.
