Litecoin Surpasses Expectations as Top Choice for Online Payments

Litecoin has quietly become one of the most-used cryptocurrencies for online payments, according to CoinGate's 2025 report. It accounts for 14.4% of all crypto payments processed, ranking third overall.

One reason Litecoin excels is its fee structure: standard transfers cost a fraction of a cent to a few cents regardless of the amount sent, because fees are based on transaction size, not value.

This makes Litecoin far cheaper than Bitcoin for small purchases like VPN subscriptions. In fact, Litecoin's typical fee ranges from 2-15 cents, compared to $1-$50 for Bitcoin.
