Litecoin's Technical Indicators Spell Trouble: Will it Hit $42 First?
Litecoin (LTC) is currently trading at $44.10, but its technical indicators suggest that it's in trouble.
The cryptocurrency is stuck below every major moving average, and momentum has flatlined. Spot volume on Binance is near zero, indicating a lack of buying pressure or selling panic.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) histogram is flatlined to zero, which can be neutral in a bull market but indicates distribution in a downtrend. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 41.85, still in the middle range and not yet oversold.
However, there are some signs of potential mean reversion. The Stochastic Oscillator's %K and %D lines are pressing into oversold territory, which can indicate a reversal. The Bollinger Band %B is also near the lower band, suggesting that price may be coiling for a move.
Whale accounts on Binance are 72.5% net long, while retail investors are 66.6% long. This alignment of smart money and retail positions increases the likelihood of a short-squeeze or a flush of both groups together.
The analyst calls from early January 2026 serve as a brutal benchmark. LTC has been cut by more than half since those forecasts were published, and every key support level referenced in those reports has been decisively violated.
