The shop, located in a former William Hill bookmakers building, doesn't actually deal with the cryptocurrency itself, but rather repairs Bitcoin mining machines.

Murtagh, an electrician by background, clarified that the repair work involves maintenance for these machines, which can malfunction over time. He noted that the shop operates primarily through online connections within the tight-knit Bitcoin mining community, as it doesn't rely on foot traffic. This means the premises may often appear closed to passersby.

The repair costs range from £100-£500 for air-cooled machines to over £1,000 for more powerful hydro technology. Murtagh chose the Rice Lane location because of its secure nature, stating that 'if it's good enough for William Hill, it's good enough for these.'
