Liverpool's Digital Assets Plummet Despite Team Optimism
Liverpool's digital asset ecosystem is struggling, despite midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai's optimism about the team's chances. The Hungarian player won the club's Player of the Season award for 2025-26 and praised new head coach Andoni Iraola, but this enthusiasm hasn't translated to the fan tokens or NFTs. In fact, the market values of these assets are remarkably low.
The $LFC fan token is currently trading below $0.00002, with a total market cap under $15,000, roughly the cost of a used car. Szoboszlai's Sorare player cards, which track real-world performance, are selling for low single-digit dollar amounts on average. The LFC Heroes Club NFT collection, launched in March 2022 with a target of over £8.5 million, is seeing subdued secondary market activity.
This stagnation reflects a broader cooling across sports-linked tokens and NFTs that accelerated through 2024 and into 2026. Investors who bet on team-specific narratives or managerial buzz found that these catalysts rarely triggered price action or did so briefly and unpredictably. The Sorare platform built a clever product, but even top-tier player cards are now selling for minimal amounts.
