London Crypto Kidnapping Ends with Five Convictions

Share

Two French crypto investors were kidnapped in London and held captive for over 52 hours. They were forced to transfer $30,000 in cryptocurrency after being tortured and threatened by their captors.

The victims, both in their 20s, were abducted while visiting London and subjected to violence and threats before officers from the Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad rescued them.

The prosecution argued that the victims' lavish lifestyle, much of it documented on social media, may have drawn the attention of the group behind the attack.

A jury found five men guilty of conspiracy to blackmail and false imprisonment. The alleged mastermind, Ibrahim Mohamed, remains at large.
