Long-Term Holder Sell-Off Slows, SHIB Surges as Market Polarizes
Bitcoin's long-term holder sell-off has slowed to its lowest level in four years, according to data from CoinGecko. This reduction in selling pressure may help stabilize Bitcoin's price, which is currently hovering around $65,000.
The 'Coin Days Destroyed' (CDD) metric, which measures the movement of older coins, has also declined significantly, indicating that long-term holders are less likely to sell their coins immediately. This trend was noted by Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, who stated that the surge in dormant coin movement seen throughout 2024 and 2025 was due to 'profit-taking by early investors.'
In contrast, Shiba Inu (SHIB) has experienced a significant price increase, surging over 36% in a single day. This rise was largely driven by concentrated buying from South Korean investors, who accounted for over 10% of global SHIB trading volume on that day.
