LSE Announces Plans for Tokenized UK Stocks in 2027
The London Stock Exchange is planning to offer tokenised UK stocks from 2027. This move extends the traditional exchanges' push into blockchain-based equity markets.
LSE 24, a new 24/5 venue, will be where these products trade. LSE 24 allows trading Monday to Friday, extending access beyond standard market hours.
The tokenised stocks would track leading UK equities and give investors fractional exposure through blockchain-based products on the exchange's traditional platform.
