LSE Partners with Payward for Tokenized Stocks Rollout

Share

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is making a significant move into digital assets by launching tokenized stocks. The bourse has partnered with Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, to roll out tokens on its overnight trading venue.

The tokens will be backed by shares of London-listed companies and are set to launch next year, pending regulatory approval. This move is a key step in the LSE's push into digital assets.

Payward's platform will provide the infrastructure for the tokenized stocks, which will enable investors to buy and sell these digital representations of shares on the LSE's trading venue.
