LSE Partners with Payward to Tokenize Top Companies
The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is partnering with Payward, Kraken's parent company, to tokenize its 100 largest listed companies. This move will make tokenized versions of these companies available in over 110 countries within weeks.
The LSE plans to list xStocks on its upcoming 24/5 trading platform, LSE 24, which is scheduled to launch in the first half of next year. The tokens will be issued under Payward's xStocks framework and will offer programmable, on-chain access to investors.
xStocks are expected to provide a new level of transparency and accessibility for investors, with the potential to disrupt traditional stock trading practices. However, UK-based investors will not have immediate access to xStocks as they are still not available domestically.
