The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is partnering with Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, to tokenize top UK-listed companies. The agreement involves listing xStocks, a tokenized version of UK blue chips, on the LSE's platform under the xStocks framework.

The first batch of London-listed equities will become available as xStocks within weeks to eligible investors in over 110 countries. However, UK-based investors will not have access to these products at launch due to regulatory restrictions.

xStocks are backed one-to-one by the underlying security and can be traded around the clock through supported exchanges, moved into self-custody wallets, and interact with compatible on-chain applications.
