Lubin Returns to Seoul for KBW2026 as Ethereum Expands Beyond Cryptocurrency

Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin will speak at KBW2026 in Seoul next month, marking his first visit to South Korea since 2019. The conference, which takes place September 30 to October 1 at Walkerhill Hotels & Resorts, will also feature Charles Jansen of S&P Global as a speaker.

Lubin co-founded Ethereum and established Consensys, a global blockchain software company that has developed the popular crypto wallet MetaMask and Ethereum infrastructure services like Infura. Through its nonprofit Ethereum Institutional, Consensys is helping traditional financial institutions adopt Ethereum technology.

The KBW2026 conference will focus on the growing use of stablecoins and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization in finance. According to Hana Securities' research center, global stablecoin issuance reached $302.2 billion as of the latest tally, while RWA issuance stood at $38.3 billion.

The trend of applying traditional finance's risk assessment frameworks to on-chain markets is also continuing. S&P Global has established a stability assessment framework for major stablecoins and is expanding its analysis scope to include tokenized funds and other crypto assets.
