Lucid Group's (LCID) latest attempt to regain traction in the electric vehicle market has arrived with the introduction of the Gravity GT-S model. The new performance crossover boasts a 1,070-horsepower drivetrain and aims to showcase Lucid's engineering capabilities in the luxury EV segment.

The Gravity GT-S uses technology from the discontinued Dream Edition model, positioning it as one of the most powerful three-row electric vehicles available. However, this release coincides with ongoing production and cost challenges that have plagued the company.

Lucid has been working to reduce costs and recover its business, including a $1 billion net loss in the second quarter and subsequent layoffs. The company has also delayed the launch of the Cosmos SUV until at least next year, citing the need for improved production systems before introducing another major vehicle.
