Senators Tim Scott and Cynthia Lummis are pushing for the passage of the CLARITY Act, which they believe is crucial for maintaining US leadership in digital assets. Scott, chair of the Senate Banking Committee, said that the legislation would establish 'the rules of the road' for crypto markets and help make the U.S. the 'crypto capital of the world.'

Lummis echoed this message, stating that without clear regulations, other countries could shape global digital asset standards. She warned that if the US fails to act, it will be left behind in international conversations about digital assets.

The CLARITY Act aims to create a federal framework for digital asset markets, including clearer oversight responsibilities for regulators. The Senate Banking Committee advanced the bill in a bipartisan vote last month, and now lawmakers are targeting a post-July 4 floor push to bring it to the Senate floor.
