Senator Cynthia Lummis is backing Wyoming's approach to crypto regulation nationwide through the CLARITY Act.

The bill aims to bring clarity and consistency to federal rules for digital asset companies, allowing them to operate more easily and raise capital without regulatory hurdles.

Lummis said that Wyoming built a legal framework for digital assets years before federal lawmakers started paying attention to crypto, and the state has proven it works with over two dozen blockchain-related laws since 2018.

The CLARITY Act would establish clear rules for digital asset regulation, separating certain assets into categories that determine which agency has authority, and includes protections for non-custodial software developers.
