Lummis Slams Democrats Over Stalled Clarity Act
Senator Cynthia Lummis has criticized Democrats for stalling the Clarity Act, a bill aiming to create a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies. Speaking on the Crypto in America podcast, Lummis stated that the bill could have been passed months ago but is being held back due to Democrat concerns.
The Clarity Act was drafted bipartitionally and has received support from major financial institutions, lawmakers, and companies. However, a group of Democrats last week expressed dissatisfaction with the current version, citing ethics concerns.
Lummis argued that these changes could have been addressed weeks or even months ago, rather than at the last minute. She emphasized that the biggest obstacle to passing the bill is the Democrats' refusal to commit to voting for it.
