Lummis Updates Clarity Act With Revised DeFi Rules

Sen. Cynthia Lummis has shared an updated draft of the Clarity Act, which revises provisions related to decentralized finance (DeFi) in the crypto market structure bill.

The changes to DeFi rules were made but the ethics language critical to the bill remains unchanged.

The latest update was released on September 10, 2026. The Clarity Act aims to provide clarity and consistency in the regulation of digital assets and bring certainty to investors, developers, and other stakeholders in the crypto market.
