Lummis Uses Tether Lawsuit to Push for CLARITY Act Passage
Senator Cynthia Lummis is using a high-profile lawsuit over $42.4 million in frozen Tether tokens to push for passage of the CLARITY Act.
The bill, which aims to give crypto companies more protection against lawsuits related to temporary transaction holds, has bipartisan support.
Lummis cited Section 305 of the bill, which would allow exchanges and issuers to delay transactions for up to 30 days in response to law-enforcement requests.
