Financial institutions have made significant strides in blockchain interoperability testing, led by a partnership between Swift and Chainlink. Over ten banks, including Citi, BNP Paribas, and BNY Mellon, participated in these experiments. The tests aimed to connect traditional financial assets with blockchain networks through tokenization.

Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) was employed to establish a link between Swift's infrastructure and Sepolia, an Ethereum testnet. Transactions involving tokenized assets were successfully executed between Sepolia and other platforms like Avalanche, Ethereum, Optimism, and Polygon.

Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink, emphasized the rise of a multichain ecosystem, where various blockchain technologies are adopted concurrently. Tom Zschach, Swift's chief innovation officer, noted that these experiments demonstrated the potential for Swift's infrastructure to provide essential connectivity between different blockchains and promote tokenization development.
