Major Canadian Bank Joins Institutional Ranks in XRP Disclosure
Canada's largest bank, BMO, has disclosed its XRP holdings to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This is not an isolated case, as several other institutions have made similar filings in recent months. Citadel, a prominent investment firm, filed a 13F earlier this year, revealing that it had 34,900 call options on the Canary XRP ETF.
Gallacher Capital Management followed with its Q2 13F-HR in July, reporting 86,744 shares in the same ETF at a value of $961,126. Brookstone Capital Management also holds a disclosed position in XRP ETFs.
The growing demand for XRP ETFs is evident in the numbers. Franklin Templeton's XRPZ ETF on NYSE Arca has seen significant inflows, with clients purchasing $5.66 million worth of XRP in July alone. The U.S. spot XRP ETFs have recorded 8 consecutive weeks of net inflows through mid-2026, with cumulative net inflows reaching $1.49 billion since their launch in November 2025.
The presence of major financial institutions like BMO in the SEC disclosure adds weight to the argument that XRP has cleared internal risk reviews at these institutions. Commercial banks operate under stricter regulatory requirements than asset managers, making this a notable development.
