Major Crypto Exchanges Shut Down Amid Regulatory Pressure
Three major crypto exchanges - AscendEX, BitMEX, and BitMart - have announced they will close operations in July. This marks a consecutive wave of shutdowns in the exchange sector, indicating rising regulatory pressure, price volatility, and intensified competition across centralized exchanges (CEX) and decentralized finance (DeFi) markets.
The closure of these prominent exchanges raises concerns about liquidity, user adoption, and the broader exchange landscape. Stricter regulations, price fluctuations, and growing competition are contributing factors to this trend.
AscendEX was the first to announce its official closure in July. BitMEX followed soon after, revealing similar plans. Just a week later, BitMart joined the list, preparing to shut down operations. These incidents have sparked speculation and caution around the future of crypto exchanges.
