Majority of Americans Oppose Trump Profiting from Cryptocurrency

Share

A recent poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos found that most Americans believe it is inappropriate for President Trump and his family to profit from cryptocurrency while he is in office.

The survey, which took place August 14-17 and included 1,166 respondents, found that 63 percent of those polled believed profiting from cryptocurrency as president was not acceptable. This number stands in contrast to the 32 percent who disagreed with this view.

Last month, top Senate Democrats raised concerns about Trump's $1 billion in cryptocurrency-related income, citing national security implications and urging further investigation into his digital asset holdings.
