Malaysia Blockchain Week Excludes Influencer over Cultural Sensitivities

The organizers of Malaysia's Blockchain Week have excluded influencer Siu Pui from an official after-party event due to cultural sensitivities. The DJ was originally set to perform at the after-party on July 29th, but the event organizers announced a change in lineup citing updates to the event's preparation.

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), this decision follows the withdrawal of support from Malaysia's digital economy agency for the DJ. The issue stems from a cultural conflict that has arisen in Malaysia, where there is a large Muslim population and efforts to promote cryptocurrency have been criticized for being seen as provocative or sensational.
