Malaysia Seizes 164 Bitcoin Mining Servers Amid Electricity Theft Concerns
Authorities in Malaysia have cracked down on alleged Bitcoin mining operations by seizing 164 servers at four premises in the Sabak Bernam district. The raid, which took place from 5pm to midnight on August 7-8, involved 35 officials from the Sabak Bernam District Council and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
The operation targeted suspected illegal Bitcoin mining and electricity theft, with MDSB saying that 'four premises were inspected in Sungai Besar and Sabak Bernam town'.
The seized servers highlight ongoing concerns over energy-related offences and unlicensed digital investment activities. The Sabak Bernam District Council has vowed to take stern action against premises found to be involved in these illicit activities.
