Malaysian Police Dismantle Illicit Bitcoin Mining Operation Seizing 73 Machines
Malaysian police recently dismantled an illicit Bitcoin mining operation in Tronoh, seizing 73 cryptocurrency mining machines suspected of operating using stolen electricity. According to local reports, a joint raid by the Criminal Investigation Department and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) technical team on Tuesday night revealed that all three sites involved were engaging in Bitcoin mining activities with unauthorized electricity connections.
The investigation found that two of the sites were abandoned houses with no residents, where TNB's technical inspections confirmed electricity theft. The third site was an unoccupied property. Two men have been arrested in connection with this operation.
