Malta Regulator Flags Unregistered Crypto Marketing Firm Distributex

The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) has issued a warning about Distributex, an unauthorized cryptocurrency marketing entity operating in Malta without legal authorization or corporate registration.

Distributex maintains a digital presence through its website and mobile app available on the Apple App Store, but the regulator notes that none of the entities associated with it are registered in Malta under the Virtual Financial Assets framework.

The MFSA analyzed Distributex's operations and found features closely associated with high-risk multilevel marketing structures and pyramid schemes, including mandatory financial contributions from participants and referral commissions tied to enrolling new participants.
