Malware Campaign Targets Video Games to Steal Crypto Wallet Funds
Federal investigators have launched an investigation into a malware campaign that has compromised eight video games and exposed around 8,000 devices. The attackers used this access to steal at least $220,000 from 80 cryptocurrency wallets.
The malware was hidden in downloadable games and harvested credentials that the attackers used to enter cryptocurrency accounts. This allowed them to drain funds from unsuspecting users' wallets.
The FBI is now seeking potential victims of this scam as the investigation continues. Those who may have been affected are urged to come forward.
