Mandela Digital has secured $5 million in funding from Datavault AI to support the development of the Mandela Dollar (MUSD), a proposed U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin.

The investment will help with infrastructure, regulatory compliance, exchange integrations, liquidity planning, and go-to-market initiatives.

Mandela Digital aims to launch MUSD, which will maintain a one-to-one value with the U.S. dollar, expanding access to dollar-denominated payments, remittances, and financial services across Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and other markets.

Datavault AI's technology platforms, including blockchain tokenization technologies and SanQtum encryption technology, will be used to support MUSD's planned issuance, redemption, compliance, and on-chain transparency.
