MANTRA has temporarily halted its blockchain due to an incident affecting its Cosmos EVM module. According to the team, two wallet addresses were impacted, but no user funds were exploited.

The incident occurred on August 21, causing the native token MANTRA (formerly OM) to plummet by more than 18%. The token's price dropped from $0.0050 to a new all-time low of $0.0041 before recovering slightly to around $0.0046.

The team has identified the root cause and is testing a patched release, v8.4.0, on the DuKong testnet. Once the patch is validated, the mainnet upgrade and restart are expected to take place later today.
