MANTRA Blockchain Halted Amid EVM Incident
MANTRA's blockchain was halted due to an incident affecting its Cosmos EVM module. The team says two wallet addresses were affected, but no user funds were exploited.
The chain has been frozen since August 21, with transactions, transfers, and staking operations unavailable. Validators have been instructed to keep their mainnet nodes offline until a restart is officially announced.
A patched release (v8.4.0) addresses the underlying vulnerability and is being tested on the DuKong testnet. The team aims for a coordinated mainnet upgrade and restart later in the day, provided testing finishes cleanly.
MANTRA's native token plummeted more than 18% after the chain was halted, reaching a new all-time low of $0.0041. However, it has since clawed back some value to around $0.0046, still trading about 82% below its March 4 all-time high of $0.02627.
