Mantra Chain Halted Amid Unspecified Incident Investigation
MANTRA Chain has suspended all operations to investigate an unspecified incident that occurred on August 21. The halt affects every public endpoint, validator, bridge operation, and transaction on the network, with updates expected from the project's official status page.
The incident marks the first time MANTRA Chain has gone fully dark at the network level. Despite surviving a 90% token crash in April 2025 that forced liquidations throughout the market, the chain's validators continued to produce blocks and transactions processed normally.
The timing of the halt is particularly awkward, coming just three days after the project rolled out a major EVM interface upgrade called MANTRA Zone on August 18. Whether this new upgrade is connected to the incident remains unclear, but the proximity is hard to ignore.
The chain's status page indicated that the halt had been ongoing for at least 29 minutes at the time of the initial update. For holders of the $MANTRA token, the immediate concern is straightforward: they can't move their assets with bridges frozen and transactions halted until the team resolves the situation.
