MANTRA Chain Halted Amidst Broad Market Rally
The MANTRA Chain network was halted on August 21st after an attacker exploited a vulnerability in an upstream dependency. The team immediately froze endpoints, deposits/withdrawals, and validators to prevent further damage while they prepared a verified patch.
This incident marks the second major crisis for the project in 16 months, with its token price plummeting to an all-time low of $0.0041. In contrast, Bitcoin rose above $75,000, with the broader market experiencing a significant rally.
The MANTRA Chain team has identified the vulnerability and is working on a patch, but until then, validators and infrastructure remain offline. The team is also tracing fund movements and has notified exchange partners to pause affected withdrawals.
