Mantra Chain Network Downed by $3.6M Attack
MANTRA Chain has revealed details of a $3.6 million attack that halted its network for over 30 hours on August 20, 2026.
The incident was caused by an unsigned-integer underflow vulnerability in the balance reconciliation mechanism between the EVM state and the Cosmos Bank module in Cosmos EVM.
Attackers exploited this bug to withdraw 720.9 million MANTRA tokens worth approximately $3.6 million from two accounts: a network burn address and an old genesis-era multisig wallet linked to an incentive campaign.
